White Currant

Ribes sativum

Blanchette® whitecurrant, a classic currant variety that produces beautiful, long, white clusters. This variety yields large, sweeter berries than older varieties. The plants are robust, healthy, and very hardy, growing well and are also much more resistant to fungal diseases than their predecessors.

Like the redcurrant, it is an early-ripening variety, with ripe berries available from mid-June to the end of July, depending on the climate zone. It also has a pleasant flavor when eaten fresh.
