Loganberry (Rubus × loganobaccus)

One of the most famous and delicious blackberry-raspberry hybrid varieties, which, thanks to this new variety, no longer has thorns. The Loganberry produces large, dark red fruits with a delicious flavour. Furthermore, when harvested, the fruits do not have holes like raspberries, making them less delicate. The loganberry comes from a cross between an American blackberry species (Rubus ursinus) and the European red raspberry (Rubus idaeus). This new variety, known as “Thornless Loganberry”, grows very vigorously, forming arched stems that need to be staked or supported, like other raspberries.

The fruit is harvested in mid-summer.
