Want to grow hanging strawberries? These trailing or climbing strawberries, depending on the variety, are perfect for letting your imagination run wild in your garden or on your patio thanks to their long stems or tendrils, which can exceed 100 cm in length—ideal for creating a hanging strawberry basket. With just 6 to 9 plants, you can easily cover one square meter in a year.

These plants produce very aromatic and delicious strawberries, which are harvested from early June to late September.

In climates with mild winters, it’s advisable to prune the plants in late autumn, as otherwise they will evaporate too much water. However, most of the time the runners simply dry out without being cut, as the mother plant itself stops supplying water to protect itself. It’s also recommended to protect the plants in winter if temperatures consistently drop below -10°C (-4°F).
