Duke is one of the most exquisite and popular blueberry varieties worldwide. It is an early-producing, vigorous variety with large, firm fruit that is a beautiful light blue colour and crunchy when chewed, which will delight any palate. They are also late-flowering plants, making them an ideal variety for areas from the coast to the high mountains. Duke is a huge improvement on older varieties such as Bluegold and Brigitta.

This variety does not begin to sprout or flower until the end of April. Therefore, Duke is ideal for areas with late frosts.

Duke is not recommended for areas with warm winters such as the Mediterranean coast, where Alix Blue is the best variety for early harvesting in May.

It is harvested in June.
