Can mini kiwi / kiwiño be pollinated by kiwi?

Yes, provided that the flowering periods of both species coincide, as the mini kiwi or kiwiño (Actinidia arguta) flowers several weeks before most varieties of kiwi (Actinidia deliciosa).

As they are closely related but not identical species, pollination will never be as effective as with male plants of the same species. Therefore, to pollinate mini kiwi, kiwiño, or as it is also known, kiwiberry or baby kiwi, the best male plant you can use is the Weiki variety.
