Belgian Wild Honeysuckle “BelgiumSelect” – Lonicera periclymenum

The fragrant, tricolored flowers of Belgian Woodland Honeysuckle plants are a true spectacle, boasting some of the most beautiful colors in the Lonicera genus. These plants are also quite vigorous and hardy, tolerating poor soils and reaching up to 5 meters in height and 3 meters in width as a climbing vine. They can be grown in full sun or partial shade and withstand winter cold without issue. Thanks to their vigor and habit, they are ideal for growing on any type of support, such as pergolas or fences, and are also a good option for use as ground cover in large areas of the garden.

Its incredible flowers are the defining characteristic of Lonicera periclymenum ‘Belgica Select’. From July to September, the honeysuckle plants in the forests are covered in elegant, tubular blossoms that initially display creamy white hues and gradually transform into shades of yellow, with pink lines on the underside of the petals. Like most honeysuckles, the fragrance of its flowers is at its peak in the evenings. And it is at the end of summer that we can see its fruits: small, ornamental, bright red berries that are very attractive to birds.
