Goldflame Honeysuckle – Lonicera heckrottii

Its name says it all: the “Goldflame” Honeysuckle stands out for its intensely colored and brilliant pink, yellow, and orange flowers. It’s a hybrid variety (Lonicera x heckrottii) but is also very hardy, with deciduous leaves and a more compact habit, not exceeding 3 meters in height, making it ideal for growing in lighter supports, smaller garden spaces, or even in pots or containers. These Lonicera x heckrottii Goldflame plants also have beautiful, obovate, green leaves—that is, inverted egg-shaped—with the upper leaves being perfoliated, forming a disc that surrounds the inflorescence.

But it’s during the summer months that it displays its full splendor thanks to its incredible and long flowering period. These tubular, good-sized flowers boast one of the most spectacular color combinations of all honeysuckle plants, blending reds and pinks with yellow tones in the center of the blooms.
